The 7 pieces of the armor of God.
The seven pieces of the full armor of God are the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, the sword of the spirit, which is the word of God and prayer.
1. The belt of truth.
Ephesians 6:14
Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place.

Underneath the breastplate of a soldier is the heart. Therefore, the breastplate of righteousness protects the Christian’s heart which is a symbol of righteousness that comes only from trusting Jesus.
3. The gospel of peace.
Ephesians 6:15
And with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.
To provide stability and readiness during battle, Roman soldiers wore strong sandals. In a similar way, your “feet should be fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.” This means to stand firm and walk in God’s truth and always be ready to share the gospel, which brings peace in the lives of believers and gives them confidence to stand firm in their faith during trials.
4. The Shield of Faith.
In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one (Ephesians 6:16).
A shield protects the soldier from enemy attacks. Think of Captain America’s shield, for example (Marvel fans?). You can also use the shield to deflect attacks. It gives you security and protects you from the enemy’s lies, removing any fears about your place in eternal life. You can be confident that you will spend it in heaven with Jesus.
6. Sword of the Spirit.
The sword of the spirit is the word of God, which is an active and powerful weapon in fighting the Devil. It helps us know right from wrong, allowing us to discern and defend against the devil’s lies and attacks. Jesus tells us to actively search God’s word each day. But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God (Matthew 4:4 NKJV).
7. Prayer.
Ephesians 6:18
And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.
Prayer is important in the completeness of God’s armor. The apostle Paul encourages us to pray in the Spirit at all times, using different methods (requests, intercessions, and thanksgiving, etc.).
